A has always felt like she’s had to fight to be noticed and understood by others, but in some ways has also found it much easier for her to fade into the background, becoming a kind of chronic wallflower. As a Puffin Shifter living in an urban environment, A feels that despite having some kind of power, it can be quite useless to be able to turn into a small, oceanic bird as compared to just about anyone else. It’s not that she hates her animal, but that she never feels like it’s something people say “wow” about, so she mostly keeps her shifting to herself when she chooses to use it at all. She’s the second-youngest of four siblings, and always felt like she had to forge her own path. Because of this, she tends to lean towards alternate fashions and music tastes, and she has an enjoyment of body modification, from dyeing her hair flashy colors to getting implant piercings on her collarbones. Her personality may come across as stoic and even cold at first, but once you get to know her, she is someone who feels and loves deeply, who just wants to be heard and understood like everyone else.
A has a passion for hiking and exploring nature, and makes it her priority to see the most beautiful places she can possibly make it to. She works a day job as a waitress at a somewhat dingy establishment run by a pair of psychic vampires, where there is often live music and parties. She saves up her tips for a year or two, and once she has enough, she takes a few weeks off and flies to some remote location where she can get lost in the woods. Although she would also enjoy engagements like music festivals, ultimately she only has so much of a budget every year, and she’d rather spend that time relaxing and detoxing in the quietude of nature. She considers herself to be somewhat of an anarchist, but only in the sense that she’s disillusioned with ideas like capitalism and would rather just spend her time wandering around beneath the stars. A often feels like she’s searching for something more, something that will make her feel whole and understood.
This is a big reason why she wanted to pursue companionship in the first place - she just wanted to find someone who feels the way she feels, who wants to find someone who understands what it’s like to feel like there’s got to be something out there to make you feel like you are fully yourself. She loves the idea of having a friend she can share everything with, whether that’s sharing your dreams and interests in a fevered conversation about every single thing you like, trying new foods together, going on adventures to new places together, and altogether making each others’ world brighter. She is just as happy to go discovering things on her plane as she is on ours, and invites you to come along with her, if astral travel is something that interests you. A hopes that there’s somewhere the two of you can find common ground and start a beautiful friendship together, if the fit feels right.
