"When I first put myself out there for companionship, I had to explain what my perfect idea of a date was, which was this:
‘I’m not really into anything too extravagant. Let’s just go out to a sports bar and eat some wings or ribs and be ridiculously messy together! Tell them to keep the celery and carrots sticks to themselves and load on the extra sauce! Let's pick a screen and cheer for a team we don't even know. Heck, let's both cheer for opposing teams! It creates good tension. Can you take the heat?’
I’d say that’s still pretty true and accurate to what I’m looking for. I basically just want someone to be my ride or die, to be able to disagree vehemently with me yet still leave together at the end of the night, to let nothing tear us apart. You get me?"
D is, in her own way, a little bit of a “bro”. She tends to prefer the company of masculine people, or at least those who are happy to be a bit more rowdy and a touch messy. D is passionate, and her temper is a little bit hot at times, but she comes down quickly. She has always been the type of girl who could outpace anyone, male or female. She can drink more beer than anyone at the bar, eat more slices of pizza than most, run faster than an Olympic athlete, and so much more. Whatever it is, even if she’s never done it before, D believes she’ll get the hang of it and master it in ways others can’t.
It is safe to say that D has an ego the size of Texas, but it’s not just for show and posturing. D really is a prodigy child who can accomplish just about anything she sets her mind to, but this natural ability comes with a heaviness not many know; her parents had very specific ideas of who they wanted their daughter to be, but D never quite fit the bill. They’ve never said it to her face, but D suspects her parents are severely disappointed in their only child.
Despite her overwhelmingly positive self-perception, D isn’t vain, nor does she really go out of her way to dress up for anyone, including herself. D is comfortable with how she presents, and figures the world should learn to take her as she is instead of pushing their expectations on her.
Through companionship, D is hoping to help someone come into their own. Whether it’s someone that has been held down by expectations, forced into a life they didn’t want for themselves, or even just someone unsure of how to move forward from their current position in life, De feels that she can impart some of her personal philosophies on a willing soul. Ideally, she’d help someone take hold of their life and develop a firmer grasp of it, instead of allowing things to simply happen or slip through their fingers. “I’ll teach you how to be your own master,” D says. “And once you learn that, you’ll be unstoppable.”
In return, she wants someone that will bond deeply with her, and form a relationship that will stand the test of time.
