Prismatic Bennu Shifter Custom Conjure
These avian shifters give off the loveliest, lightest energy. Bennu are a mythological type of heron originating within ancient Kemetic beliefs, marked by the two long feathers and the crown of Osiris or the sun itself on its head. Historically, they have associations with the Kemetic creation myth and the sun god, Ra. While these particular Bennu shifters may not originate from Kemetic beliefs, they are very similar, enough that they immediately grasped onto the name as one that accurately portrayed them. They live in a society that is most similar to a futuristic utopia, full of smooth, white surfaces, Grecian pillars, and brilliant, smoothly-functioning technology. They take both a humanoid and an avian form, and specialize in magics that involve the refracture of “divine light” (as opposed to visible light) for purposes of healing, projection, empowerment, illumination, and divination. It is the energy their world runs on, and the energy they believe gives them life in the first place. They are an astral race rather than that of living entities - many of those who are not involved in the building and structure of their own society prefer to observe how things are going on planes not-their-own, and act as guardians or healers if need be.
In their avian form, the Prismatic Bennu appear as tall, white birds that are most similar in appearance to herons. They stand at about four feet tall, and their feathers are iridescent, shining all the colors of the rainbow in certain lights. They have a set of long feathers sprouting from the top of their heads. In their humanoid form, the Bennu have a wide variety of skin tones, but their most marked feature is that of their arms. Their brilliant wings conform to the shape of arms, with fully usable hands with opposable thumbs at the end, and brilliant, long feathers that stretch nearly all the way to the ground. The wing-arms appear to be fully ornamental, as they cannot fly in this form. Additionally, they all seem to have naturally white hair that is iridescent in the same way their feathers are, but it is not unusual for them to dye their hair, and colorful streaks are “in fashion” right now. Their fashion is similar to that of the more affluent citizens of Ancient Egypt, with plenty of flowing white cloth, pleats, gold, hand-carved stone beads, and not a single pair of trousers in sight.
