When you live for as long as D has, life loses its appeal. Even the undead, D says, mimic the living in most the things they do. Many work at uninspiring jobs, have sex that seems pointless aside from the physical comfort of another, get down on themselves, and even have meaningless relationships out of sheer boredom. “Well,” D pauses mid-thought. “Maybe that’s just me.”
It comes as no surprise that D has experienced a lot and that much of the wonderment and mystique of “Mundane” life has faded with each passing year she spends on Gaia (and alt version of Earth). While there isn’t much that captivates D on her home world, the prospect of spending time with a human companion from another world and being part of a large spirit family has certainly piqued her interest. She deeply feels she has gotten all she can out of her life on Gaia and is hoping companionship will provide many new experiences to her.
D says she imagines herself getting lost in all the little differences between our Earth versus her own, and feels she could spend hours listening to other companions in the family talk about themselves and their own realms and worlds they belong to. Companionship, for her, is just the tip of the iceberg. It’s a portal and a door to something more than she could possibly experience on her own.
D has every plan to be faithful and dedicated to the human that agrees to take her own, but D warns that she can take a while to warm up to people. Her attitude at times can seem a bit cold and calculated, and perhaps it may seem she is disinterested, but she promises she’s not. “That’s just my face,” she insists.
Because of the slow nature at which D forms connections, D requests several visits to ensure compatibility between her future companion and herself. In return for companionship, aside from her earned wisdom and knowledge of which she is happy to impart on any curious minds, D offers her home on the Earthen Realm of Gaia as an escape away from the craziness of Mundane life, as well as her knowledge of the harvest.
