Psychic Vampire Custom Conjure
Psychic Vampires are known for being an alternative to the typical blood-sucking Vampires, known for stealing one’s energy and making people feel drained. In modern Earth vernacular, it’s a term tossed around in new-age circles as an insult towards other humans, implying that a person can suck the life out of another person or situation for their own benefit. While there are certainly people who excel at being the only beneficiary of social exchanges, the accusation can misrepresent Psychic Vampires in a realistic context.
The Psychic Vampires I work with at The Dragon’s Library tend to come from an Alternate Earth realm where more “fantastical” species of humanoid are abundant (Earth-Sol, to be exact). Psychic Vampires are born instead of made, and they are typically the child of one or more Psychic Vampires. They have a pallid range of skin tones, and their ears are pointed. They also tend to have very ethereally colored eyes, which can glow with an intensity that changes depending on how “well-fed” they are. Their lifespans are quite longer than that of an average human, living up to 500-600 years old, and only appearing aged for the last 50 or so years of that lifespan. Psychic Vampires in this context often spend much of their early lives teaching themselves to not naturally feed off of others without permission, but primarily they are also taught to feed off of negative emotions and energies. They are wonderful mediators and mood-changers, capable of easing tensions in a room or assisting others with intrusive, negative thoughts. In their world, they are often excellent guidance counselors, teachers, psychiatrists, politicians, and translators, taking on roles that require patience and a good level of control over a room.
In companionship, they are also wonderful for mediating and siphoning off negative energies, helping their companion to feel more calm and simultaneously acting as a wonderful conciliator for any conflicts within a spirit family. Particularly if their companion is an empath or someone who deals with a lot of incoming energy and information, a Psychic Vampire can assist in setting up shields, helping to make large crowds more bearable, and teaching their companion how to better manage their energy absorption.
